About the Founder — Valerie Yuam (aka. Lilith Cain)

STREAM KVLT was started by Valerie Yuam, also known on social media as Lilith Cain (@lilithvcain), a Singapore-based journalist, writer, and public relations professional with years of experience covering music, culture, and society. Having worked in news and entertainment media, she saw a gap in music journalism — one that lacked honest, well-researched, and artist-driven coverage. Instead of waiting for change, she decided to create it.

Valerie’s love for music goes beyond just writing about it. She believes that great journalism can shape a scene, champion underrepresented voices, and build bridges between artists and their audience. With STREAM KVLT, she brings her sharp editorial instincts and deep passion for alternative music to create a platform that is as bold and uncompromising as the artists it covers.

When she is not dissecting albums or interviewing musicians, Valerie is constantly engaging with the community through her PR work with various artists or ensuring that every piece published reflects the heart of the scene. Her goal has always been the same since Day One: To spotlight what she thinks is cool and share them with the world.
